Description

2020 and Beyond: Working Together Towards a Clean Growth Future for Northern and Central Communities

Join the BC Municipal Climate Leadership Council (BCMCLC) and Community Energy Association (CEA) for an in depth look at the future of climate action in the region at this post-convention workshop.

Workshop Description:

Learn about the Province of BC's CleanBC Plan and the resulting opportunities available to local governments. Explore how to maximize community benefits, such as economic development and health, through regional collaboration by applying a "climate lens" across all local government service areas. Practice communicating the co-benefits of climate action in your community and leave the session with tools and resources to move initiatives forward.

This interactive session will feature guests and success stories from regional governments and partners, and peer learning through facilitated table discussion. A representative from the BC Climate Action Secretariat will also share information and lead a discussion about the upcoming new provincial climate adaptation strategy.
